Nena arrived in Iwatodai in a back alley by the station to avoid notice, dressed in a skirt, tights, and short wool coat. Walking out into a more public area, she put her hands on her hips, looking around for any sign of Junpei. "Guess we should have set a more specific place to meet, huh..." Due to the fact that he knew the area better than she did, she didn't want to get lost, and he was the guy and supposed to do the work anyway, she found a place that put her in good view of the area and settled down to wait.

"W-What!? N-No way! You're already totally hot! I mean, uh... p-pretty!" he stammered, backing up in his chair.

He hoped he could fix things, and didn't ruin his date already... They hadn't even made it an hour, and already she thought he'd called her ugly. This was worse than their beach escapades in Yakushima.

"Y-You couldn't get any prettier! You're already awesome!"

... Which translated to 'oh god, I'm an idiot, please don't leave', in stupid boy language.

Nena didn't speak stupid boy language, but she did speak the language of compliments. Immediately her sunny smile returned and she uncrossed her arms, brushing her hair back from her face with one hand. Whoever said flattery will get you nowhere?

"I'll forgive you if I get a bite of your coconut pie~!"
