014. [RL with Shiro]
[ She's lying on the couch, tossing Haro up and down; she's still a bit shaken from-- well, dying-- but is more frustrated than anything else. It would have been fun if she hadn't had to worry about Michael, and then to learn she had just been yanked around and the whole thing didn't even count and she'd lost three days in there and everyone had seen her all dirty and covered with blood-- she was, in essence, incredibly cranky. ]

He wasn't here because he was hoping by some small chance that it was all a mistake, and she was actually in her room listening to terrible pop music, or begging her dad for more allowance, or anything. And he certainly wasn't going to do any pussy shit like cry on her bed while sniffing her pillow. Absofuckinglutely not.
Honest.
It was for totally normal, manly reasons that he was now banging on the front door.]

[ shouts ] If you're trying to find Cross, I've got a knife, you know!

...Nena? That you?
no subject
You didn't tell me you were coming over!
no subject
You didn't tell me you weren't dead! [he said, in exactly the same tone.]

Didn't you see my post? I just woke up back in bed this morning!
[ --and then hears his tone and scowls, crossing her arms ] You'd better not be as horrified as you sound! What were you trying to do, come and take my stuff?

[The floor seemed to be a really awesome place to be right then, even if it was in the middle of the doorway. So down he went, knees up to his chin, hands over his face. He'd seen a lot of fucking weird shit in his life - hell, he was pretty fucking weird himself - but the last few days had kind of taken the cake.
But he still wasn't crying, because that would be really lame. Definitely not crying.]

Hey... you can come in, you know. ...Did it really freak you out that bad?
no subject
I thought you were dead.

[ ...but in case the bravado didn't work, she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around him, resting her chin on his shoulder; Nena was at home with boasting, complaining, and physicality, but not quite so much with comforting, especially since she usually didn't have much cause to. ]

(Those other guys who cried about their girlfriends were still total wusses. This was a special case.) ]
See? I'm totally real. [ She pulled away and stood up, pulling him up with her by his hands ] But come inside, you're letting all the cold air out and it's like ninety today.
no subject
Yeah, don't want to let the air out. 's hot today, ain't it?
[He allowed himself to be dragged inside, and kicked the door shut behind him.]

[Seeing as she had already pulled his face near to hers, he ducked closer and kissed her.]

[At least he felt able to joke now, and he even chuckled a little. He was probably hugging her a little too hard, though, like he was scared she'd slip out of his grasp. He kissed her mouth again briefly, and then kissed her nose, her forehead, her cheek - hell, he'd kiss every little freckle if he could. He was just so goddamn glad she was okay.]

I need a real man, you know! Real men don't lie! [ But she was obviously teasing, happy to be getting his complete attention ]
