21.

[ A bright flash of light; it's bright enough to blind, the screen entirely white. It fades slowly to show a slightly older Nena at the helm of an unfamiliar ship, a bruise on her cheek, looking bitter and slightly savage ]

This is the way they do things, hm?

[ --but the screen's fading in and out, and when the picture is next clear she's by the window of a different ship, clutching her head; when she straightens up she shakes herself and presses her face to the glass-- ]

What the hell?

[ --back to the first scene, but the audio's cut out, and she mouths 'excellent'-- or she's sitting on the arm of a chair, grinning and swinging her legs, the background fuzzy and indistinct; the other figures look serious, but she giggles and says ]

Oh, here we go again... look, most events in history aren't fixed, they're what's called in flux. Your decisions, other events in your life, they help shape your future, but that's not set in stone. Time's not so much a straight line as a huge ball of timey wimey stuff.

Well, no, obviously other people's actions will affect what happens as well because it'll affect you, one way or another. But the final choice always rests with you, you know.
