RL with Mikaela: the 'Tieria's a Dick' club

Nena was sat at the table, chin in her hands, staring at the cake.

He must have snuck in last night somehow and left it there. It didn't seem like the kind of thing someone who would pull a dick move like leaving right on your birthday would do. And plus, she was pretty sure he didn't even like her.

It was pink, and had pink writing, and some kind of sparkling sprinkles on it. It was exactly the sort of cake Nena would have wanted, if she'd gotten one herself. It even had strawberry ice cream in.

But he didn't even like her.

And so she sat there, confused and upset and angry, glaring at the cake as if she was going to set it on fire with her eyes.

Okay, now Mikaela was in danger of falling out of her chair; the idea of a robot watching Springer and MTV was patently hilarious. She certainly couldn't imagine, like, Ratchet or Ironhide doing it; the image of Prime gravely watching hicks argue about paternity was enough to redouble her laughter.

"Oh god," she gasped. "Springer? R-really? At least they-- don't throw-- chairs anymore, right?"

Mikaela drummed her hands against the table, absolutely overcome with hilarity. "Oh my god, I probably-- probably woulda punted him! Into a wall!" She made a 'whoosh' with one hand, pantomiming the hypothetical trajectory of said punt.

Clinging to the table to keep from pitching straight out of the chair, Mikaela couldn't seem to stop laughing. At Nena's last words, she picked up her fork, still sitting on the table, and pitched it straight at Haro. "Shut up, you!"

Mikaela got it, and stuck her tongue out right back, feeling terribly immature and not even caring. She flapped one hand at him, like she was trying to wave away a fly or something. "Git outta my face, beachball."

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2009-08-01 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"How does he fly anyway?" Mikaela asked, as soon as the laughter had subsided enough to get it out without giggling. She watched Haro hovering, still grinning. "Is it, like, magnets? We could take magnets out~"

"Whoa, antigravity?" she asked, eyes wide. "That is so cool." She cocked her head to one side, a speculative expression on her face. Even the Cybertronians didn't have anti-gravity! ...Or if they did, they didn't use it on themselves, or else the Autobots would be able to fly, wouldn't they? "Maybe I could just take a look~?"

Mikaela's eyes went suitably wide as Haro just shut off and dropped like that, like...well, magic. "Whoa," she breathed. "Cool! How'd you do that?" She figured there was a remote or something around to use on him, though she hadn't seem one.

She pushed up out of her chair and walked around the table towards Nena and Haro. "I won't lie, I'd like to take a look," she admitted, "but if'd be, like, a big problem, that's fine, haha! I wouldn't mind."

Mikaela didn't know, had no idea, actually, but she didn't press. She leaned over as Nena opened him up, taking a look at the circuitry inside. She was right, it was really dense in there. Nena was right, she couldn't see much; she's have loved to poke around some, try to get an idea how he worked. He wasn't hers to mess with, though, and she didn't want to risk messing anything up, so she kept her hands to herself. "Coooooool."

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2009-08-01 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"Magic is totally cheating," Mikaela agreed. "If you can't do it with your own two hands, it doesn't count." She took one last look--not that it meant much, since she had no idea what most of the stuff in there was. She stepped back when Nena closed him up beaming. "Very cool. I dunno if I coulda figured out how to make the antigrav thingy work."

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2009-08-01 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Mikaela snickered. "Oh, yeah, definitely," she said. "And I'm better with, like. Big stuff. Engines and transmissions and things, not little electronics like that."

She stepped back to the table, leaning against it and bracing her hands against the edge. "What, like, can he do, anyway?"

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2009-08-02 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Whoa," Mikaela breathed, looking suitably awestruck at the descriptions. She looked down at Haro with new respect on her face; she'd had no idea the little 'bot could do so much. "Oh man, that sounds really complicated," she admitted with a laugh. "Technical stuff like that goes over my head half the time."

She laughed again at that last. "Oh man, did she? On purpose, or was it an accident?"

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2009-08-02 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Aww," Mikaela said with a frown. "Poor guy. He's okay, though, right?" He seemed okay, but she'd never met this Haro before now, so how would she know?

"Oh, man, could you?" she asked, looking up quickly from the reactivated Haro to Nena. She nodded quickly, her expression going determined. "I'd really like that, I don't think the army dudes would show it to me, even if I asked nice."

[identity profile] know-sacrifice.livejournal.com 2009-08-02 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Mikaela couldn't help but giggle. "Well, that's good!" she chirped, then followed Nena into the living room. "Okay," she said with a nod, looking around while (she thought) Nena was setting Haro up to broadcast through the TV. It was kind of weird to be in this house and know that a couple months ago it would've been A Teacher's House, but she wasn't in school anymore. Plus, Cross didn't even seem to be around right now; there was no reason to feel odd.

Finally, she flopped down on the couch, crossing her legs and watching Nena's turned back curiously.
